David Popper , 1843/12/09 (Prague)‒1913/08/07 (Baden, near Vienna). Cellist; pupil of Goltermann, Prague Conservatory. Member of Prince von Hechingen’s orchestra at Löwenburg, first cellist in Vienna court orchestra. Composed many popular cello-pieces.
