CROCKER MUSIC  is a full music-service provider that is now publishing original music and arrangements by Dean Crocker. (Works by other composers might be added in the future.)

Electronic delivery cuts costs, saves time and energy, and allows you to print the number of copies you need—subject to minimal license requirements. Clicking on the “Purchase Music” graphic will whisk you to a secure site providing many payment options. Sales are transacted through an excellent company called Kagi: they will collect any VAT due from EU-natives as well as sales tax from California residents.

Scores and parts are available as Portable Document Format (“PDF”) files—sometimes inaccurately called “Adobe Acrobat” files—which are easily viewed and printed by such readily available (and free) programs as Adobe Reader, gv, the various versions of Ghostview, GSview and/or Ghostscript, xpdf and others. All fonts that are used are embedded in the files, enabling a clean, clear printout.

The PDF files are distributed in a compressed format. Different operating systems have different traditions concerning compressed files, so we are offering two different formats: zip and gzipped tar files. Zip has traditionally been more popular and readily available on Windows (and DOS); tar.gz in Linux, Unix, BSD and the like. Macintosh OS X (version 10.3 and later) can natively open zip files. Everyone else should look at Info-ZIP’s UnZip 5.52. It’s free, it’s available for about 30 different operating systems and you can discover the incredible power of the command prompt. A quick search with Google (or any other search engine, for that matter) will find many other available programs to handle this task graphically, some free, some not.

Audio files of works created for synthesizer can be downloaded to your computer just like hit songs from big-name stars! Rather than using the patented MP3 format, these are patent-free OGG Vorbis files and can easily be played with most standard cost-free media players. Conversion programs are readily available if you prefer a proprietary format.

Unlike large commercial audio download sites, our audio files cost USD 2.50. You may think this is expensive. Blame it on the fact that many of these pieces are 10–20 minutes long. Blame it the incredible, high-priced talent involved in making this music. Or just blame it on the fact that $ 2.50 is the lowest price you are allowed to charge in Kagi’s store at check-out…

After purchase, you will recieve an e-mailed receipt containing the address of the download site. You will get 3 attempts within the next 30 days to download the file. Files can be large (100KB to 30MB). If you have a slow connection to the internet, you might wish to start the download before you go to sleep or out for dinner.
